On November 4, 2024, the House of Roosevelt in Shanghai hosted a highly relevant event for Italian companies looking to expand their presence in the Chinese market. The conference, titled "Doing Business in China: A Guide for Italian Companies", was organized by D'Andrea and Partners with the goal of providing Italian businesses with practical and informative insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with entering and growing a business in China.

After the initial greetings by Attorney Carlo Diego D'Andrea, Founding and Managing Partner, and Attorney Matteo Zhi, Senior Partner, the presentations by experts in various key areas for the internationalization of Italian companies in China began.

The first speaker was Attorney Riccardo Verzella, Senior Associate at D'Andrea and Partners Legal Counsel, who discussed the Essential Tools for Investing and Protecting the Business in China, focusing on the legal divergences between the two countries and, therefore, on the need for a strategic legal approach to navigate both local and international regulations.

The second speech was given by Mr. Gianluca Bonissoni, General Manager of PHC Tax & Accounting Advisory, who provided a useful overview of the Chinese Tax System, highlighting the key tax regulations that companies need to be aware of in order to operate efficiently and in compliance with the law in the country.

Afterwards, Mrs. Jacqueline Wang, International Business Director at Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area International Investment & Development Co., Ltd., presented the opportunities offered by the Lingang Special Area, a strategic region in Shanghai for foreign investment. Her presentation emphasized how this area represents a key leverage point for Italian companies looking to exploit the growing demand for high-quality products and services in China.

The final speech was held by Mrs. Anna Gai, General Manager of Eastant Communication and Events, who outlined the Communication Strategies and Digital Channels to be Adopted to Promote the Italian Brand in China. This is a particularly relevant topic in an increasingly digital market, where online positioning and reputation management are crucial for the success of businesses.

The event was attended by Italian companies, including All Up and INALPI SPA, as well as representatives from the Marche Region and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Italy highlighting the importance of strengthening ties between Italy and China.

At the conclusion of the conference, a Q&A session was held, followed by an aperitif that provided an opportunity for direct networking among the participants, encouraging the exchange of ideas and the consolidation of possible new collaborations.

The event reiterated the importance of a strategic and informed approach for Italian businesses wishing to seize the numerous opportunities offered by the Chinese market. With China increasingly playing a leading role in the global economy, events like this are crucial for building bridges and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
